Mazel Tov 10K Batay yisroel!

How appropriate that we are celebrating the milestone of reaching 10,000 shidduch suggestions on the 10K website coinciding with the week that we celebrate the shidduch of Yitzchok Avinu with Rivka Emainu. The main criteria that Eliezer was insistent upon in seeking the proper candidate to be the wife of Yitzchok was that she excels in gemillas chassodim. She must posses a generous heart overflowing with kindness and empathy extending even to animals when necessary.

I believe that the reason 10K Batay Yisroel has been so successful in reaching 10,000 shidduch suggestions in such a short time span is thanks to the kindness and heartfelt empathy of Klal Yisroel. The deaths of a young newly engaged Chosson and Kallah tore at the hearts of Klal Yisroel. Yisroel and Elisheva were engaged for just 10 days when their lives were abruptly snuffed out by a pair of drag racing criminals driving at over twice the legal speed limit on a rain slicked road in their rush to get to a casino. To perpetuate their memories and to engender zchusim for their neshamos a movement was started to inspire everyone in Klal Yisroel to think of shidduchim and to follow through and redt those  shidduchim.

The novelty of 10K Batay Yisroel is that we are showing all of Klal Yisroel that you don’t have to be a professional shadchan to make a shidduch. You just have to possess a caring and loving heart and a desire to bring simcha to our beloved singles. These 10,000 suggestions have resulted in 1,343 first dates and 86 engagements! Week by week and month by month the numbers keep climbing higher and higher as more people find out about our movement and join our holy initiative. I personally check the site every day to observe the latest entries and it is such a source of nechama to me to know that Yisroel and Elisheva did not die in vain – their names will live on forever through the project that their death’s inspired.

I want to offer my heartfelt thanks to the founders of 10K Batay Yisroel that continuously give of themselves so selflessly to administer the site and constantly improve the project. We extend an invitation to everyone to please visit and become inspired to join our holy mission. May HKB”H bentch our join efforts so that we can truly bring simcha to all of the singles in Klal Yisroel who are relying on us.
